About Me

I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the state of Illinois with my PhD in Counseling Psychology. My approach varies depending on your concerns and your goals. Through collaborative discussion, we will determine how to best work together. Though I have some specialties, I work well with a wide array of individuals with many different needs.

My work is informed by psychodynamic, multicultural, and interpersonal theories, which means I pay attention to the dynamics in the session as well as the issues and experiences you bring into the room. My approach to therapy involves helping people explore and understand underlying factors that may be contributing to their distress. By working together to understand these factors within the context of a safe relationship, people can begin to make different choices and create a more meaningful life.

I have experience working with a broad range of general issues that impact many people such as relationship issues, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, issues around life transitions, parenting, navigating social inequality, and self-esteem issues. I also have specialized experiences working with issues pertaining to sexual orientation and gender identity and conducting assessments for both eating disorders and adult ADHD. Finally, I have a long history working with people who have experienced a range of traumatic experiences as a child or an adult.
